from the actual liner notes:
our mp3s are brought to you by napster and metallica
our skips are brought to you by really cheap blank cds
our music is brought to you by your seven dollars
our bananas are brought to you by pure evil

the following is an interview held, on February 17th 2007, with Todd Patton...

me: who did what on that record?
tp: i did most everything except lead vocals. dave played drums on popcorn, cherry eyeballs, and cold floors. leon probably did one guitar track for each song. i know whatever lead guitar parts there are, are mine

me: so what was the inspiration to the title? was it a concept album at first?
tp: no. not at all. basically, we had a really stupid sense of humor, and our best friend kevin was a really good cartoon artist, so we knew it'd make a good album art.

me: where do evil bananas come from and what do they want?
tp: they come from space of course!

me: was the projected goal eight tracks, or were there songs leftover that didn't make the final cut?
tp: those were all the songs that were recorded, even though we had songs such as "i'm a chaunce" and "the beach" that were never recorded. [and] we had classics. "white vomit" comes to mind.. and, i don't know.. we had some others that didn't have names, probably.

me: anything that sticks out from the Evil Bananas recording sessions?
tp: when i think of the evil bananas recording process there are two main memories that stick out. the first is recording drums in that little ass room in your house, that front room. mostly because it was a little ass room, and second because it was my first time recording my drum playing.

me: i don't remember that. are you sure?? were all the drums done there??
tp: not all. some. i did tuesday song there. and satisfaction. on my shitty ass pulse drumset.

me: and the second memory?
tp: oh.. the second is [mixing down] the master tapes [to] your computer. i was so excited! it was the best thing that i had done musically at that point!

me: so was the entire band happy with the final product overall?
tp: yes, of course... well, besides some of the mp3 transfer hickups. yes, we were extremely happy. i would never be where i am today without that experience

me: which was my computer's fault. maybe we can remaster them when i come up to do the tED thing.
tp: hell yeah. i would love to.

me: sweet! now what's your favorite / least favorite songs from the cd and why?
tp: least fav is popcorn, just because it's very boring/repetitive and its production is the absolute worst. the snare drum sounds like my ass on a hot sweaty summer day. umm, my fav.. tuesday song just because it has the best hook, and is one of the better produced song on the album. the lyrics are really gay, but that hook is undeniable. i do love satisfaction though.

me: ok i guess one more question... Where Are They Now?
tp: haha... mike is now married, working as a student guidance counselor at brother martin high school. leon - i have no idea, lost touch with him. dave fell off the face of the earth as far as i know. and i'm a superhero.

me: ok this one's really the last one. what do you have to say to anyone who's going to hear this for the first time through the website?
tp: wow. so much. haha. umm.. first of all.. please check out Second Saturday!!

me: hahahahahaha i was waiting for that. tp: hehe. second... i'm really really sad that mike didn't further pursue some sort of music-recording lifestyle. he's a really good songwriter that no one really knows about. and, i know that if he had the chance, he'd be recording some really good songs today. and, also... to check out mike tv.

me: don't mess with texas.
tp: exactly.
