she was my ecstacy written by mickey harrison (penguin)
stereogram written by mike smithers (30 amp fuse)

all the drums were originally recorded in one long session. however, michale went back and re-recorded four (and a half) drum tracks.
those songs are marked with (*) asteriks.

both bells & shells and foreplay were two improvised guitar riffs recorded on the spot.

bells & shells was almost mixed down as an instrumental until michale threw together some lyrics at the absolute last second & recorded them.

foreplay became an outtake when a drum track was attempted; there's no constant tempo. the recording itself (on the 4-track cassette tape) was purposely ruined so that it could not be used in the future. there is no mixed version of it, and the track is considered "lost for good".

megnut was written on november 3, 2005 and is planned to be included on PENGUIN's forthcoming 2008 full-length album, Never Gone.

360 was first recorded on 4-track for PENGUIN's 1999 Gay America, but the project was cancelled after one 3-song session. the song was later re-recorded on 8-track for the band's almost-complete Shaded Jade album, but it too was abandoned.

she was my ecstacy originally appeared on PENGUIN's 1996 Technical Difficulties. the original recording did not have a humorous backing vocal track, but the part was added by original PENGUIN bassist paul cunningham (many years ago).

in the sun originally appeared on PENGUIN's 1997 Fork Sheet Peas. version 2 includes a fuller-sounding guitar solo that rings out at the end, while version 1 stays true to its roots.

the guitar part to time capsules is years old, but the song was finally fleshed out with vocals and recorded earlier in 2007. the version found on SW is a bit heavier.

my axe not my ex was orignally written/recorded only 13 days prior to this version.

a cover of 30 AMP FUSE's stereogram was also recorded previously/recently, but it sucked pretty bad. the version on this record is the only track that michale feels the drums aren't good enough. he went back to redo the drums (along with other tracks) on November 12th, but one of his sticks broke during the song and he could not continue. luckily, this was the last song he had wanted to fix.

shotgun wedding was written in three minutes on November 4, 2007 during the guitar/vocal session. it wasn't planned, it just happened.

the little ditty after shotgun wedding is actually not part of the song, but is another instrumental improvised recording titled welcome to hell.

end it all was orignally recorded in 1997 during the Fork Sheet Peas sessions, and can be found on the ultra-rare Wasted cassette single.

hidden on the last track is the riff to LED ZEPPELIN's heartbreaker to further the joke behind this recording.
